Bulgarian company Doverie Brico, which holds the rights of the French Do It Yourself (DIY) retailer Mr. Bricolage for Bulgaria, Macedonia and Serbia, announced plans to expand open new shops Serbia and Montenegro in 2009, Namnews said on April 15.

Magdalena Kotupova, marketing manager of Doverie Brico, said shops would be opened through the Serbian subsidiary the company set up in 2007. She declined to say how many shops the company plans to open.

According to Kotupova, each shop would require an investment of 4 to 5 million euro.

Doverie Brico currently operates 10 outlets in Bulgaria. On March 26, Andrei Evtimov, Mr. Bricolage’s managing director for Bulgaria told Bulgarian daily Dnevnik that the company was in negotiations to expand its franchise to Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Kosovo.
Namnews quoted Kotupova as saying that negotiations for the Albanian franchise were still under way.
