"Main construction works on Mall Gabrovo have been completed and we are expecting to have the site open for business by June 2009. Finishing touches such as electric installations, interior insulation and modelling and furnishings are well underway, " said the investors of the project, Mall Gabrovo OOD as quoted by Stroitelstvo Gradut.

The mall started construction in the autumn of 2007, with main investors being Mall Gabrovo OOD. The estimated price tag of the entire project is expected to exceed 12 million leva, according to Veselin Stanchev, one of Gabrovo OOD's executives.

Mall Gabrovo has a total area of 15 000 sq m situated in juxtaposition to the local municipal administration building, Gabovo's central square and the main post office. The architecture of the mall is unique as it incorporates modern glass and aluminium structure built around the fully restored old building considered to be of significant cultural heritage to the town.

Months before its official inauguration, more than three quarters of the slots within the mall are already occupied. The first underground floor, 2000 sq m in area, is designated to accommodate a large supermarket from the chain Elemag Gourme. More than 40 stores will occupy the first two storeys, whereas the top two levels will boast a recreational centre, Galaxy bowling alleys, Piano Bar, a large panoramic restaurant, three fast food outlets and coffee shops as well as a children's playground.

The roads providing accessibility to and from the Mall will also be built in full as well as a large underground parking lot built on sub-levels two and three that will be fully accessible to disabled shoppers.
