Residential real estate in Pernik has seen prices go up, according to local real estate agents, as quoted by Bulgaria news agency (BTA).

Apartment prices have gained five per cent and luxury two-room brick dwellings in the town’s centre have reached 50 000 euro, BTA reported. Three-room flats command similar prices, the highest level, striking 60 000 euro.

Pernik has limited supply of one-room flats, their prices varying from 22 000 euro in suburban neighbourhoods to 34 000 euro in the town centre.

Increasingly often, sellers are calling off deals, even if there is a serious buyer, expecting prices to go even higher, brokers quoted by BTA said.

Most transactions are financed by loans and a lot of people opt for buying a cheaper unit in a poor condition in favour of smaller debt to the bank.\
