UniCredit Bulbank, Bulgaria's biggest bank by assets, said it would extend a loan of 30 million euro for the construction of the Vertigo Building on Bulgaria Boulevard in Sofia.

The building, which will stand out with its daring design of Italian architect Raimondo Flaccomio, will rise 17 storeys and will have a total build area of 14 000 sq m.

Some 20 per cent of the floorage, including the entire ground level, will be taken by stores and restaurants, while the rest of the building will be offices. Underground and open parking for 350 cars is also part of the design.

The investor in the building is Italian firm Casa Chic, with IesKFT Properties Development acting as project managers. UniCredit Bulbank has been involved in all stages of planning, starting from land acquisition, cost calculations and now project financing, the bank said.
