Construction in Studentski Grad (Students' town) borough will come to a complete halt in a matter of several weeks, Monitor daily reported, based on Sofia mayor Boiko Borissov and chief architect Petar Dikov's intentions to issue an ordinance to ban further construction of the area.
It is quite possible that this will be a temporary solution, and, as of now, it not clear when the ordinance would be implemented or how long it would be in effect, Monitor daily said. A random check in Studentski grad done by the newspaper in March revealed that there were close to 60 projects in the works and just as many planned to begin in the near future.

XarXa Real Estate, a Spanish company specialising in property sales and investments, arrived on the Bulgarian scene. Its motto is “Let's turn our competitors into our partners”, Petar Atanassov, executive director for the Bulgarian branch of the company, said during a news conference July 3.
XarXa means “fishnet” and it has been established in Barcelona, Spain in 1994. It is a part of Gestion Immuebles Compartidos, a world network of 80 companies based in Spain and other European countries.

The project to build a second bridge over the Danube River between Vidin in Bulgaria and Calafat in Romania has run into new snags, which may delay its completion, Dnevnik daily reported on July 3.
Rather than change the original design, Bulgaria's Transport Ministry has decided to carry out a new assessment whether the original design of the bridge will be robust enough to withstand the test of time and elements, the daily said.
